Biology is the Science of Life. It is an active and practical subject that provides an insight into the way living things work, the way they interact with each other and their relationships with the environment. In Year 12 you will learn about cells and the biomolecules from which they are made. You will then develop and apply your knowledge whilst studying disease and how it affects different organ systems and how the body fights back. You will also learn about the variety of living organisms, from DNA and the cell through to entire ecosystems. In Year 13 you will learn about specific life processes, how new species arise and how organisms are controlled. Student quote: "It's rare that you find a subject that is both interesting and enjoyable. Biology meets both of these criteria."
